For every two hours that you volunteer, you receive a voucher that can be redeemed for a free festival movie ticket. Vouchers are redeemable for regular festival films. You will have to purchase a separate ticket if you wish to attend a gala, forum or special event.
Five earned vouchers may also be redeemed for Cinema Seattle membership, a $35 value. Cinema Seattle membership entitles you to discounts on future SIFF tickets, free passes to advance screenings, a subscription to our quarterly magazine Reel News, and more.
PICKUP DEADLINE: All vouchers must be picked up by Friday, June 25, 2004. Any vouchers earned this year's festival that are not claimed by that date will be forfeited. Please be responsible for the timely pickup of your vouchers. We are also unable to issue replacements for vouchers that were not picked up by the end of last year's festival.
REDEEMING VOUCHERS: Volunteer vouchers are redeemed at the two SIFF box offices, located at Pacific Place Mall (6th Ave and Pine St. downtown, third floor) and at Broadway Performance Hall (Broadway and Pine). To redeem vouchers, fill out a ticket order form at the box office, and present the form and voucher/s to the cashier. One voucher gets you a ticket for one film. Vouchers are transferable.
THE FIVE DAY RULE: Vouchers may not be redeemed for tickets more than five days in advance of a particular screening. This is to prevent any one person from using vouchers to monopolize all of the seats allocated for volunteers.
DAY OF SHOW: It's a good idea to redeem your vouchers as soon as you can, consistent with the five-day rule, because vouchers can not be redeemed at the box office on the day of show. Instead, you must wait in the Rush Line outside the venue where your film is playing. Your voucher will act as your rush ticket. Day of show seating is contingent on availability, with priority given to passholders and paying customers. If a screening is sold out, you will not be able to redeem your voucher for that show.
If you have questions about day of show seating, ask a Venue Manager onsite for information. Follow their instructions at all times. If they can seat you, they will. Otherwise, respect the situation and try to see another show.
VOUCHER EXPIRATION: Vouchers expire one year from issue. Vouchers earned for this year's festival will expire after SIFF 2005. Vouchers earned in 2003 will expire after this June. We are unable to issue replacements for vouchers that were not picked up by the end of last year's festival. Also, we are unable to replace lost vouchers, so treat them like cash.
All vouchers must be picked up by Friday June 25, 2004.
