Volunteering : Meet the Staff

Chris Mergerson
Volunteer Coordinator

In an earlier life, Chris Mergerson was a speechwriter and advance man for a U.S. Congressman. He's also worked on political campaigns for some really bad men. He is a native of Northern Virginia and like many other African Americans of Southern lineage, he became an incurable hockey fan. His bedroom floor is littered with all of the magazines he compulsively collects, and he listens to enough Stereolab to put a horse under. Recently he used L'Oreal bronzer on his face for two weeks on a dare from Rachel Peterson. The results were amazing. His favorite film is hard to pin down, but he identifies a lot with Bobby Dupea in Five Easy Pieces, except he's never slept with Sally Struthers or thrown a chicken sandwich at a waitress. He'd like to try at least one of those, though.
